READ ABOUT US

The Fiberglass Reinforced Plastics Institute (FRPI) is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit industry trade certification and standards development organization. FRPI was incorporated on September 17, 2003, and was issued a determination letter by the Internal Revenue Service on August 29, 2005. This letter provides recognition of FRPI’s nonprofit tax-exempt purpose, as defined under Articles of Organization filed in the United States with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

FRPI embodies “Reliability in Every Fiber” by strengthening the competitive technical advantage and supplier performance verification practices for those committed to achieving optimal mechanical integrity in fiberglass process equipment. Through its unwavering dedication to reliability and excellence, FRPI supports manufacturers, specifiers, owners, inspectors, and regulators in managing asset ownership and operational costs, while minimizing the risks of environmental and safety incidents. Together, the FRPI community enhances expertise and ensures consistency in procurement, inspection, and repair, all in strict compliance with industry standards and regulatory mandates.

The FRPI organization is led by Gary Arthur, the founder, executive director and president. Gary is a second-generation fiberglass industry pioneer like his father, who started a grassroots fiberglass equipment manufacturing shop in 1958. The organization has been supported by its technical Board of Advisors and business Board of Trustees plus hundreds of industry folks. FRPI is a product “proving ground” type program serving the interests of the chemical processing, chlor alkali, pulp and paper, water and wastewater treatment, power, mineral refining, oil, and gas, plus other allied industries.
